LaJuana Moser was a foster parent for over 24 years. During that time she cared for over 150 foster children and adopted 5 of them. She was saddened to see so many of the children coming to her home with nothing in hand. Foster kids coming from other foster homes came with their items in trash bags. Foster children in crises came with nothing at all.

One day while watching the Oprah show she was amazed by a young man who collected suitcases for Foster children. This man's idea inspired her, so she prayed to God for ways in which she could help. She wanted to do more for these kids than just provide for them in her own home. Thus, she began filling backpacks and diaper bags and giving them to children in crises situations, in hopes of giving them pride and dignity.

Over the years Ms. Moser has added other Bags4Kids projects to for underprivileged kids such as filled school backpacks, prom dresses, toys for a child's birthday and  Christmas.

Hi! My name is Alicia and I'm 27 years old. I've been working as a preschool teacher the last 5 years. I'm taking a couple online courses through Portland Community College. I plan on working towards a teaching career or in the entertainment industry with kids. I just recently moved back to the Antelope Valley. I've really enjoyed helping volunteer with Bags4Kids since 2002.

Mission Statement
The Bags4Kids Foundation solicits and receives donations and dispenses these donations to assist and support the mental well-being and comfort of children during their stressful transitions from police stations, children’s services offices, Foster care agencies and shelters.

The Bags4Kids Foundation supports the well being of these special children with emphasis on keeping their dignity,  compassion knowing someone cares, and a bag to keep their worldly possessions.

The Foundation raises donations in the form of new or used bags; backpacks, duffle bags, tote bags and diaper bags. We fill them with various items that will bring comfort to children in this transitional time in their lives.

Any monetary donations are used to purchase the items to  fill the bags, i.e. toiletries, small toys, writing materials, Bibles, books and anything else that can pass the time at a police station or children’s services offices. Since June, 2002, the Bags4Kids Foundation has made thousands of bags. It is our priority to make thousands more for the children who are not as fortunate to have a family to provide these simple items for them.
